Cape2Camp Featured in Wanderlust Magazine: A Dream Come True

We are featured in Wanderlust Magazine

We are beyond excited to share that Cape2Camp has been featured in Wanderlust Magazine—an incredible milestone for us! We’ve worked hard to offer hikers a unique and accessible way to experience the breathtaking Cape to Cape Walk Track, and it’s truly an honour to see our story in such a respected publication. Here’s the feature article that highlights our journey.

Spanning a total of 125km between Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse in the north and Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse in the south, the Cape to Cape Walk Track is a classic experience for hikers and nature lovers alike.

Though, traditionally, hikers have carried their life on their back while enjoying the walk, Cape2Camp is reinventing the way they explore this iconic stretch of the South West.

"In Cape2Camp, we organise transfer, camping equipment – which is set up at campsites along the track – and food," Cape2Camp Owner Anne Nordgard said.

This makes it easy for a self-guided hiking experience, as minimal planning is required.

You can hike at your own pace because there's no need for transfers at the end of each day."

With sections of the Cape to Cape Walk Track averaging a day’s amble of 16-25km, Cape2Camp provides options for servicing parts of or the entirety of the track.

“This track has been set up by many tour operators to enable you usually six to seven days,” Ms Nordgard said.

Cape2Camp recognises this timespan might not be accessible for everyone; therefore, we saw an opportunity for shorter multi-day hikes over a weekend with our most popular hiking package, Cape2Camp Southern Explorer Tour.

"This package caters for three days and two nights from Prevelly to Cape Leeuwin."

After opening the business in 2023, Cape2Camp has welcomed 75 hikers in its first year of business, with plans to expand within the region in 2025.

"My inspiration for Cape2Camp has burned inside me since I was a child growing up in Norway," Ms Nordgard said.

“From a young age, my love for hiking taught me every experience was more than a journey – it’s a personal challenge and a chance to uncover your own connection to nature.”

Before Cape2Camp started, most trips along the Cape to Cape Walk Track relied on guided walks and camping, which came with a high level of commitment and cost due to guided walking tours. Cape2Camp instead offers an option for DIY experiences without guided walks, accommodation, and transport services.

We would meet our people each night around the firepit and the company of friends you’ll meet during the journey beats staying in a hotel.

We are happy to chat to accommodate a customised journey.

“Our open groups, which take up to eight hikers, offer a unique experience. However, with four or more people, we can set up a private group,” Ms Nordgard said.

Campsites in Cape2Camp are made comfortable with high attention to detail in their preparation.

Even firewood is ready for our hikers, so when arriving at camp, you can kick off your shoes, sit down in a chair around the fire and enjoy the company of fellow hikers. Ms Nordgard Said.

Many tell me how nice it is to meet and chat with people in the group, have no screen time or transfer and to be able to spend all their time in nature.

“They all walk at their own pace during the day and will gather for starlight dinner in nature at night.
