In 2023, adventure lover and entrepreneur Anne Nordgard took a bold step that would soon change the hiking experience along Western Australia’s renowned Cape-to-Cape track. Combining her passion for the outdoors with her business vision, she launched Cape2Camp—now a finalist in the Adventure category at the prestigious WA Tourism Awards. Recently, AMR Times featured Cape2Camp’s journey, highlighting the brand’s rapid rise and unique appeal.
Making the Cape-to-Cape Track Accessible for All
Cape2Camp was born out of Anne’s vision to offer a comfortable yet immersive experience for hikers along the Cape-to-Cape. Her two, three and seven-day packages are designed for those who want to enjoy the track's natural beauty but prefer to end each day at a fully prepared campsite. With options that include tents, mattresses, and locally sourced food and wine, Cape2Camp allows hikers to travel light, focus on the journey, and truly connect with nature.
“My vision was to make the Cape-to-Cape accessible and convenient so that more and more people can enjoy an intimate hiking experience with this amazing piece of coastline,”
“My vision was to make the Cape-to-Cape accessible and convenient so that more and more people can enjoy an intimate hiking experience with this amazing piece of coastline,” Anne shared in AMR Times. Cape2Camp is not just a tour operator; it’s a way for people to experience the outdoors without the logistics and heavy lifting, making the adventure accessible for all experience levels.
Eighteen Months of Success and Community Building
In just eighteen months, Cape2Camp has grown rapidly, receiving rapturous reviews and becoming a favourite among local and visiting hikers. This success has earned the company a finalist spot in the WA Tourism Awards. But beyond business growth, Anne’s goal has always been to create a community. Originally from Norway, she’s deeply connected to the outdoors and wanted to build a space for like-minded individuals to form bonds as they explore the beauty of WA’s coastline together.
Why Cape2Camp Stands Out
Cape2Camp’s approach of providing “walk-in / walk-out” campsites brings the comforts of a prepared site without the hassle. As Anne explained, “By providing walk-in / walk-out campsites that include tents, mattresses, and local food and wine, it eliminates having to carry camping gear or needing transportation each day, which means almost anyone can take part.”
This unique model allows even beginners to fully enjoy the experience without worrying about logistics. Every detail, from comfortable sleeping arrangements to locally sourced meals, ensures that Cape2Camp guests can relax, enjoy the scenery, and focus on the adventure.
Looking Forward: The WA Tourism Awards
Cape2Camp’s journey is just beginning, and the recognition at the WA Tourism Awards is a testament to its success and the impact it’s making in the adventure tourism industry. The awards ceremony, scheduled for 9th November at the Crown Grand Ballroom, is a significant milestone for Cape2Camp and a chance to celebrate its mission of bringing people closer to nature.
